Rob Owens began working in the home building industry in 1990 as an assistant to a jack-of-all-trades. His passion for construction and craftsmanship continued to grow, leading him to start his own custom home building and remodeling company in 1997. After five years as a custom builder, Rob joined a growing production home building company based in Huntsville, Alabama. Within two years, he advanced to Vice President of Operations and Director of Planning & Site Development, helping guide the company’s growth into a Top 200 Home Builder.
With extensive experience in both custom and production home building, Rob co-founded VTS Homes in early 2010. As President, he has been instrumental in leading the company’s growth while maintaining its commitment to quality, value, and timeless design. His focus has always been to provide homeowners with exceptional craftsmanship, lasting value, and a stable investment.
In 2022, Rob founded Owens Custom Homes, LLC, a company specializing in custom homes built on clients’ land, major renovations, and personalized construction solutions. The company was established to provide homeowners with a highly customized building experience backed by Rob’s decades of industry expertise. In October 2022, Rob also purchased the outstanding shares of VTS Homes, becoming its sole owner and continuing to lead both companies with a commitment to excellence, integrity, and customer satisfaction.
Today, with more than three decades of experience in the home building industry, Rob remains dedicated to creating exceptional homes and lasting relationships while helping families build places where memories can be made for generations to come.
